JUNE 4, 2007

Chief Walter Vickers performed the smudging ceremony for the new Zara Cisco Brough Center on June 4, 2007.  The Center is a new girls' facility built in Westboro, MA for the Department of Youth Services.

The smudging ceremony cleanses individuals of any ill feelings or evil spirits.  It cleanses buildings and surrounding areas of evil spirits and is meant to bring a sense of peace and  "intent to do no harm."

The official dedication is June 5, 2007 and will be hosted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts - Department of Youth Services.  Information and pictures of the dedication will be posted in the near future.
